MSB 1st Exchange Program 〈Day 4〉　地域医療見学

朝から夕方にかけて、よしき往診クリニックにて在宅医療の見学をさせていただきました。

生活保護を受けていらっしゃる方、老化と病気で徒歩五分の病院にたどり着くことができない方など、様々な理由で自分で病院に行けない患者さんに対する医療を見させていただきました。認知症などの高齢者に多い疾患の患者さんが多いように見受けられました。検査機器などのデバイスも限られた中で、患者さんまたご家族のお話を聞き、その患者さんとご家族にとってベストな治療を模索しておられました。実際の患者さんの生活環境に立ち入って診察させていただくことで、単に病院で診るよりも、より患者さんの生活に即した治療をすることが可能であると感じました。また超高齢化社会となり、自宅で亡くなる人が増える中で、患者さんが異状死となり、煩雑な手続きができてしまう。それによって患者さんの死後もご家族に精神的な負担がかかることも、在宅医療で主治医が診断をつけることで防ぐことができるそうです。在宅医療は今後ますます盛んとなる分野であり、その現場を見学させていただけたことは大変貴重でした。

日本は世界一の高齢化社会であり、高齢者に対する医療は他国に比較して進んでいると思います。在宅医療は、超高齢化社会の日本だからこそ見学できる貴重なものであり、自国の医療の未来に関しても考えるきっかけとなるという意味でも、留学生にとって大変貴重なものであると感じました。

そして在宅医療見学の終了後、放射線遺伝学の武田先生の研究室に来ている留学生に京都での暮らしに関するプレゼンをしてもらいました。どの方のプレゼンも大変面白く、またとても良い雰囲気でした。

We visited and observed home health care at Yoshiki clinic . Patients cannot go to see the doctors for various reasons . Doctors examined those who cannot walk 5 minutes to the hospital because of the aging and illness , patients who are getting public income support , dementia patients and other patients with diseases which are prevalent among elderly people . Doctors tried to find and perform the best treatment for the patients under conditions where they have limited devices . Dotors could see the patients' living environment with their own eyes . Therefore they could provide more personalized treatment than just examine at outpatient clinic . Japan's population is aging fast and the number of people die at home is increasing . If they are healthy just before they die , the bereaved families needs to call police and have to go through complicated procedures . However , if doctors examine them  in home health care before they die , the procedures become unneeded . Thus home health care can reduce the burdens of the families . Home health care will become more and more needed and it was precious experience to observe it . Japan is the most aging nation and  I think medical care for elderly people is more delveloped than other coutries . Home health care is one of the unique Japanese medical treatment and foreign students could think about the future of their countries' medicine through observing it . 

after the observation , foreign students who belong to radiation genetics lab gave us the presentation about their career and the life in Kyoto  .
